Terms of Service
Last updated: July 11, 2026
By using Cal Notary Tools websites, courses, or related products, you agree to these terms.
Educational purpose; no legal advice
Content is for education and general information only. It is not legal advice. Consult a qualified attorney for advice about your specific situation.
No guarantee of exam passage or commission
Completing a course does not guarantee that you will pass the California Secretary of State examination, receive a notary commission, or obtain any particular result. Failing the state exam does not entitle you to a course refund.
Eligibility & compliance
You are responsible for meeting all legal requirements to become or remain a notary, including those in Government Code §8201 and related regulations. Product availability (including RON training) does not mean a practice is currently lawful in California.
Access periods
Course access is generally 60 days beginning at first course launch (not purchase), unless otherwise stated. Game day-access products expire as labeled. Expired access may be reactivated at then-current reactivation pricing where offered.
Accounts, gifts, and transfers
You must provide an accurate email for your account. Purchases may be gifted via gift codes; redeemers are responsible for creating an account to access products. Do not share login credentials.
Payments & refunds
Prices are listed in USD. Except where required by law, digital course purchases are non-refundable once access has been delivered or a gift code issued—including when you fail an exam or choose not to complete the course.
Certificates
Completion certificates document education completion only. They do not commission you as a notary. Certificate validity periods shown in-product are for our records and do not replace state law.
Affiliate supplies
Supply pages may contain affiliate links. We may earn a commission from qualifying purchases at no extra cost to you.
Intellectual property
Course materials, text, branding, and software are owned by Cal Notary Tools or its licensors. You may not copy, redistribute, or resell course content.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Cal Notary Tools is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits, data, or goodwill, arising from your use of the site or products. Our total liability for any claim shall not exceed the amount you paid for the product giving rise to the claim in the twelve months before the claim.
Indemnity
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Cal Notary Tools from claims arising out of your misuse of the site, violation of these terms, or notarial acts you perform.
Changes
We may update these terms. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
